I received my first Firewood a few days ago (I've been eyeing previous versions for a long time), and I must say that I am impressed by it. The manufacturing quality is very good and Marc has done an excellent job here. This very small vape offers a very good cooking and very tasty puff 😋

It is a small vaporizer regulated by an 18650 battery. It offers genuine on-demand sessions! The bowl is the ideal size, neither too big nor too small, it's just perfect.

I think it is essential to read the instructions to fully understand how this vaporiser works, but once you have read them, it is actually quite simple and intuitive. This one offers a profile system that can be modified according to your needs (from 250 °F / 121 °C to 440 °F / 227 °C, 20 temperature settings available), which is a very good thing. Here, a single button (this one is recessed, I think to prevent accidental clicks) is all you need to configure everything and read the settings with highly appreciated haptic feedback. Marc is a real genius! 🤠

Here, you can set up three different profiles. The default settings for these are as follows:

Profile 1: 340 °F / 171 °C
Profile 2: 380 °F / 193 °C
Profile 3: 420 °F / 216 °C

These default settings are very good and will be suitable in most cases.

⚙ Settings

1. Turn Heater ON

2. Check Battery Level

ℹ The number of vibrations obtained indicates the battery level.

ℹ 3 sets of 3 vibrations indicate that the battery level is too low (< 3.5V) and you must recharge the battery immediately to avoid damaging it.

ℹ 3 sets of 4 vibrations indicate that the battery level is too high (>= 4.3V). Please note that Marc recommends charging your batteries directly in your Firewood via the USB-C port provided for this purpose. A charge indicator is integrated; a green LED indicates that charging is in progress and turns off when charging is complete. An external charger may overcharged cells and not work properly. Personally, I have no problem with an XTAR VC4SL external charger and a Molicel P28A/P30B battery.

⚠ Only use high drain 18650 cells with a nominal voltage of 3.6V and rated for at least 20A discharge current.

3. Check Profile

Double-click quickly

ℹ The vibration number corresponds to the current profile (one, two, or three).

4. Switch Profile

To select profile 1, click once quickly, then click a second time while holding down the button. It will vibrate once to indicate that the change has been saved
To select profile 2, double-click quickly, then click a second time while holding down the button. It will vibrate twice to indicate that the change has been saved
To select profile 3, triple-click quickly, then click a second time while holding down the button. It will vibrate three times to indicate that the change has been saved

5. Check the temperature of the selected profile

ℹ The device will give 2 sets of vibrations corresponding to the temperature selected for the current profile.

6. Set the temperature of the selected profile

To provide a concrete example here so that you can fully understand this function, I will share my current settings with you step by step.

In this example, we will define the following temperatures for each profile:

Profile 1: 380 °F / 193 °C
1. Select the first profile (look above)
2. Quadruple-click quickly
3. The device will then vibrate 4 times
4. Referring to the previous table (first series), click three times
5. The device will then vibrate 3 times
6. Referring to the previous table (second series), click eight times
7. The device will then vibrate 8 times
Profile 2: 410 °F / 210 °C
1. Select the second profile (look above)
2. Quadruple-click quickly
3. The device will then vibrate 4 times
4. Referring to the previous table (first series), click four times
5. The device will then vibrate 4 times
6. Referring to the previous table (second series), click once
7. The device will then vibrate 1 times
Profile 3: 440 °F / 227 °C
1. Select the third profile (look above)
2. Quadruple-click quickly

That's all! You have now modified and validated the temperatures for each profile. You can now modify them according to your own needs!

ℹ Note that the unit saves your settings even if you remove the battery for a long period of time. Once you find what works for you, you probably won't need to play around with these settings anymore. You can simply switch between profiles.

👉 Usage

Load botanicals into the oven
Lightly tamp down the bowl and make sure the herbs are at or below the hot air inlets
Turn heater ON (look above)
Optional: select the desired profile (look above)
Click the button and hold it down (it will vibrate one, two, or three times to indicate the selected profile)
As soon as it reaches the desired temperature, it vibrates once to let you know
You can start drawing by keeping the button pressed (true on-demand, the heater will hold the temperature at the current profile)
The heating switches off as soon as the button is released (it will vibrate once to indicate shutdown)
Repeat & Enjoy!

ℹ You don't need to reselect the profile with each puff. When a profile is loaded, simply press and hold to start heating. Select the profile only when you want to switch it!

📋 Recommandations

During the first heating, you can wait an extra 5 to 10 seconds before drawing. This is not necessary for subsequent ones.

When you release the button, continue to inhale until you feel a single vibration, which will signal the end of the heating process and a complete extraction.

Customize your profiles, then start with Profile 1 (which will deliver the best flavor), then switch to Profile 2 (which marks the end or the best compromise). You can complete the extraction with Profile 3 by setting it to the maximum level if you wish (very useful for hash).
